1918—Future Corridor-of-Famer Joie Ray (6:57.8) was a runaway winner of the Mile-and-a-Half on the Millrose Video games, held at NY’s Madison Sq. Backyard. It was the twond of his 7 Millrose wins on the distance, which might ultimately turn out to be the Wanamaker Mile in 1926.

1960—Gary Gubner (DeWitt Clinton H.S., NY) set a U.S. Excessive Faculty File of 63-0 (19.20) within the Shot Put on the St.Francis Prep Video games at NY’s Armory. Throughout his prep profession, he was recognized for breaking lighting fixtures on H.S. fitness center ceilings.

The previous NYU star received two NCAA titles (1963,1964) and was the 1962 U.S. Champion.

1965–Junior Invoice McClellon (DeWitt Clinton, NYC) cleared 6-10 ¼ (2.09) on the St.Francis Prep Video games at NY’s Armory to set his 4th Nationwide H.S. Indoor File within the Excessive Bounce. McClellon’s collection of data, all set on the Armory, rated because the #5 Best Second in Armory Historical past (By 2007). He would set his 5th (and closing) Indoor File when he cleared 6-11 originally of his senior 12 months.
He cleared 7’-0” outdoor on the 1965 U.S. Championships to turn out to be the primary prep to prime that barrier.

1999—Brigham Younger’s Leonard Myles-Mills, a senior from Ghana, ran 6.48 for 60 meters in Colorado Springs, breaking the Collegiate File of 6.50 set by Pittsburgh’s Lee McRae in 1987. He would put the present mark of 6.45 the next month. (Tied by Tennessee’s Christian Coleman in 2017 and Texas Tech’s Terrence Jones in 2022). He would win his 2nd straight NCAA 100 title in June.

2021-Texas A&M frosh Athing Mu ran 1:25.80 for 600 meters on the Aggie Inv. on her house monitor, breaking the 40-year outdated Collegiate File of 1:26.56, set in 1981 by Tennessee’s Delisa Walton Floyd.

Bob Larsen 86 (1939) Corridor-of-Fame Coach
Coached X-Nation and T&F at UCLA from 1979 till his retirement (from faculty teaching) in 1999. Succeeded
Jim Bush was the Head T&F coach in 1984. Led the Bruins to NCAA group titles in 1987 & 1988.

Danny Everett and Kevin Younger. Different athletes on Larsen’s groups included Ato Boldon, John Godina, Henry
