Smriti Mandhana confirms Harmanpreet Kaur not injured, Indian skipper to play in a must-win WT20 WC vs SL

If India go on to lose their very important conflict in opposition to Sri Lanka on October 9, they are going to be nearly out of the Ladies’s T20 World Cup.

A good news is coming our way! As India beckons to compete in a must-win Women’s T20 World Cup clash against Sri Lanka, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is fit and available. This comes after the veteran was retired hurt during the high-octane IND vs PAK clash in Dubai.

Harmanpreet is available, says Mandhana

On the eve of the IND vs SL matchday, Indian opener and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana revealed that Harmanpreet Kaur will be available for selection. According to Revsportz, Mandhana said, “Harmanpreet is doing all good and she is available for the selection in tomorrow’s game (India vs Sri Lanka).

During the high-stakes encounter against Pakistan, Harmanpreet sustained the injury while batting, which led to her leaving the field in tears. She was forced to retire hurt after scoring 29 runs off 24 balls.

Pooja Vastrakar still under scanner

While Harmanpreet will certainly boost the struggling batting group, one player that missed out from the last game is Pooja Vastrakar. She only bowled an over against New Zealand but was left out due to a niggle. On her update, Mandhana stated that the final call on Vastrakar’s availability will be taken on the matchday. “For Pooja, Medical team are working and more assessments will be done and final call will be taken tomorrow,” said Mandhana. Apart from this, Mandhana also asserted that Radha Yadav is also not injured.
