Rs 10.05 cr left, 12 slots to fill – What do Kolkata Knight Riders want on Day 2?

Many issues have been lined by IPL 2024 champions KKR on Day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega public sale, however there are nonetheless some areas to deal with. Let’s have a look at how the camp fared on public sale Day 1 and what they’ll do on the ultimate day of the mega public sale.

With the first day done of mega auction 2025 and IPL 2024 champions KKR revamping their squad for IPL 2025, the team has made some impressive moves. They have managed a good combination of bowlers and batters, with key players like Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz returning to the squad. Venkatesh Iyer was one of the biggest surprises of the day, going for a massive INR 23.75 crore to KKR. Overall, the team did really well, covering important bases. Now, they have a minimum of 6 bases to cover, with a maximum of 12 slots remaining to complete the roster. Let’s first see what KKR has left for Day 2, and what we can expect from them during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

KKR Squad after IPL 2025 mega auction day 1

Rinku Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Ramandeep Singh, Venkatesh Iyer (Rs. 23.75 crore), Quinton de Kock (Rs. 3.60 crore), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Rs. 2 crore), Anrich Nortje (Rs. 6.50 crore), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (Rs. 3 crore), Vaibhav Arora (Rs. 1.80 crore), Mayank Markande (Rs. 30 lakh).

What do KKR need on Day 2 of the IPL mega auction?

With players like Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, it’s clear that the team doesn’t need any more wicketkeepers. They have Mayank Markande this time, and with Sunil Narine already in the squad, they surely need one or two more spinners to strengthen the spin bowling department. However, the middle order still requires more stability. While they already have Rinku Singh and Andre Russell in the pack, they need someone who can provide stability at the top of the order. Harshit Rana and Anrich Nortje are also there to provide pace bowling, but what they really need to focus on is fast bowling, which is currently a priority for KKR. As mentioned, with a minimum of six bases to cover, they will likely focus on strengthening the middle-order batting and fast bowling
