“The contingent has left via the Wagah border from where they will go to Amritsar and fly to Chennai,” said the official, confirming the route taken by the team to reach their destination.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) took to social media to announce the arrival of the Pakistani athletes, posting a photograph of the team crossing the Wagah border. The AFI, responsible for hosting the SAAF Junior Championships, welcomed the team with open arms, underscoring the spirit of sportsmanship that transcends political divides.
“Pakistan junior athletics team and officials arrived today at Wagah border in Amritsar. The athletes will compete at the SAAF Junior Championship in Chennai starting September 11,” the AFI posted on X.
