MANILA, Philippines — Nov. 4, Monday, has been declared by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as a nationwide day of mourning for victims of Extreme Tropical Storm Kristine (worldwide identify: Trami).
The declaration made by Marcos via Proclamation No. 728 dated October 30, signed by Government Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

“The onslaught of Extreme Tropical Storm Kristine brought about the lack of lives and destruction of property, together with immense injury to agriculture and important infrastructures and lifelines, in addition to the disruption of the technique of livelihood and the traditional approach lifetime of the individuals,” Marcos mentioned within the proclamation.
“The nation deeply mourns this tragic loss and joins the households and family members of our departed brothers and sisters on this second of immense sorrow,” he added.
The Nationwide Catastrophe Danger Discount and Administration Council’s tally on Saturday, Nov. 2, logged 146 deaths, 91 accidents, and 19 individuals lacking, with 8,534,215 people affected by the storm.
