In an exhilarating ultimate day of the fourth version of South Asian Junior Athletics Championship right here at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday, general championship went to the house group however Sri Lanka sprinters battled for supremacy within the relays.
In a mouthwatering shorter relay (4x100m), Sri Lanka’s 100m males’s champion W Merone Julian anchored the group to victory with a meet file of 40.28 seconds. The earlier file was 41.27 seconds set in 2007.
The Indian group settled for silver. Nevertheless, it was reversed within the girls’s 4x100m relay. The house group comfortably gained gold with a meet file of 45.08 seconds. The earlier file was 46.23 seconds.
