LSG retained players list
LSG included Nicholas Pooran as their prime retention at Rs 21 crore. Known for his hard-hitting prowess, Pooran tallied 499 runs in IPL 2024, leading from the front during Rahul’s brief injury absence. With international captaincy experience for the West Indies, Pooran’s leadership qualities could provide LSG with a fresh perspective. Apart from Pooran, Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi have been given Rs 11 crore each. The likes of Ayush Badoni, and Mohsin Khan will also be a part of the LSG retained players list as uncapped players. Both Badoni and Mohsin are set to get Rs 4 crore each.
KL Rahul, who has led LSG for three seasons since their debut in 2022, has decided to part ways with the franchise due to “personal and professional reasons”, and will likely be in demand in the upcoming auction with a number of other franchises looking to recruit him as a captain.
Among other players heading back to the auction pool is all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who had joined the franchise in their debut season in 2022 from Mumbai Indians. Some of the other big names who have not been retained by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise are South African wicketkeeper-opener Quinton de Kock, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and English speedster Mark Wood.
