The Irani Cup tie between Mumbai and the Remainder of India will probably be held on the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee stadium in Lucknow

The Irani Cup tie will be held at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow, as per reports. The clash, which was supposed to be held in Mumbai, has been moved out of the city due to prolonged monsoon. As per Times of India, Ekana is set to host the Irani Cup tie between Rest of India and Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai from October 1.

Lucknow to host Irani Cup tie

Mumbai, known for its iconic Wankhede Stadium, was originally slated to host this prestigious five-day match. However, with the extended rainy season making conditions unsuitable for such an important game, the BCCI has been forced to reconsider the venue.

Ranji Champions look to continue momentum

The Mumbai team, led by veteran Ajinkya Rahane, secured the Ranji Trophy in March 2024 with a commanding 169-run victory over Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium. The upcoming Irani Cup will give Rahane and his team a chance to extend their dominance.
