Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara is reportedly set to join a new franchise ahead of IPL 2025. He is currently associated with the Rajasthan Royals as the team director. As per a report, Sangakkara is looking for offers from other franchises and will make his decision in a few days.

Sangakkara to replace Gambhir as KKR mentor?

As per Sports Today, Sangakkara is reportedly in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders to become the side’s mentor for IPL 2025. He will be replacing Gautam Gambhir, who left the side to coach the Indian national team after leading the franchise to their third title in IPL 2024. The report claims that Sangakkara, who is presently a part of RR, wishes to part ways with the franchise and is looking for offers from other teams.
